No te rindas, is a little sample of the work by Mario Benedetti (1920 – 2009), an outstanding Uruguayan journalist, novelist, human rights activist and poet. He is unanimously considered as one of Latin America’s most revered, influential, and widely read writers. He belongs to the literary giants of Latin America’s mid-20th century “Boom Generation”, which also includes Carlos Fuentes, Octavio Paz, Pablo Neruda, Gabriel García Marquez, Mario Vargas Llosa, Jorge Luis Borges and Julio Cortázar, just to name a few.
