This is your first official translation. Another opportunity not only to revise what you have learnt so far, but also to learn new words, and to integrate the different pieces of information you have been provided so far about Spanish in a meaningful way. You can use it to test yourself (how much can you manage without the help of notes, or books, or dictionaries?), or as a way to make sure you understand relevant content.
Doing translations involves making decisions based on what you know already, and thinking about the reasons to support your choices. You may have to explain in class why you resolved your translation in a particular way, so take some time to do that in advance, your translation will probably benefit from it.
